Note Black Shorts (Home Game)

The names identified in Tigerland are slightly different than those used at AFL tables
As the 1937 Richmond squad only included one person of that last name when the first name is in doubt, logic dictates that:
J Wells must be Billy Wells
R Chirgwin must be Dick Chirgwin
M. Patton must be Les Patton
J. Grant must be Geoff Grant

Assuming this is the case, the game must therefore be

Round: 8 Venue: Punt Rd Date: Sat, 12-Jun-1937
Richmond 2.7.19 7.16.58 11.20.86 14.24.108
Carlton 2.4.16 7.7.49 10.15.75 13.19.97

Les Patton played only one home game in his career total of 4 games. This must be that match.
All other players match that game.
Missing from the photo is Gerald Hayes

Research by James Taylor indicates that Hayes was the 19th man. There is a mention of Hayes being omitted and, in the team selections on the same page, listed at one of three emergencies. from The Argus 11.6.1937 p13.
