1950'S CROP OFNEW LEAGUE PLAYERS LOOKS GOOD Says Percy Taylor

Argus 2-Sep-1950 p10-11 Weekend Magazine

MELBOURNE has tried 10 new players this season, and the pick of them is Geoff McGiven, with Stuart Spencer a good second

Spencer, who comes from Port- land with a great reputation, has missed few games. He is really a rover, but, because the side has lacked wing men, he has played there fairly regularly for most of the season. Only l8, Spencer is developing nicely. He has lots of dash, and -is a nice left foot kick. His play this season suggests that he will be a good one next season.
