LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS OF 1950 - -WING HALF - FORWARDS By PERCY TAYLOR
Argus 8-Jul-1950 p12 The Argus Week-End Magazine
Ron McEWIN, the flashing, dashing type of clever player, is the usual occupant of the other half-forward position. He came from the thirds and had his first senior game in 1948. Last season he came to maturity, and caused a lot of damage to the morale of opposing defenders, being the elusive type, with tons of pace, and with ability in ball handling and disposal. He usually takes a turn at roving, too.
Ron is a sportsgoods salesman, is single, and lives with his people at Moonee Ponds. Football is a frequent topic of conversation, as his father is an official of the seconds. In the summer Ron relaxes at the beach.
