The photo is also probably taken at a grand final match, so identifying a grand final appearances will assist in identifying a date for the photo. Dunlop won the 1929, 1930 and 1933 Grand Finals.

Players
Player fifth from left in middle row, and presumably the captain, is Harry Crompton. Crompton played for Port Melbourne. There is also a Harry Crompton who was a trainer for Carlton and bears a resemblance. Harry Crompton does not appear in the 1933 grand final team list, so I would lean toward a 1930 team.
The Argus 1933 Team List (Argus 1933, September 22) mentions that Dunlop may play some of it's South Melbourne players, so there may be a link to the South Melbourne VFL team.
