A Carlton (VFL) Second Eighteen circa 1959-60. Photographed at Princes Park on match day. Sizable crowd. Therefore curtain-raiser to senior game. Seconds matches, previously played at ‘away’ venues and drawing small crowds, were first played as curtain-raisers (to VFL senior matches) in 1959.
Twenty players. Black shorts. Nine officials.
The player second from left in the top row is possibly Vasil Varlamos who played 44 senior games 1960-64. Other faces look familiar but cannot identify.
