1950'S CROP OFNEW LEAGUE PLAYERS LOOKS GOOD Says Percy Taylor

Argus 2-Sep-1950 p10-11 Weekend Magazine

AMONG the eight new players tried by Richmond, the two who show most signs of developing into stars are Ray Ednie and Brian Boland.

Boland, who is just 19 years, was formerly a student at St. Joseph's C.B.C., Geelong," and was recommended by Brother Howard, whose brother, Frank, played with Richmond." He was residentially tied to Melbourne, but was cleared to Richmond last year.

He graduated from the thirds to the seconds, and reached the senior side this year. He has been a fairly regular player in various positions, but mostly on the wing, where his pace and/cleverness should make him a regular player.
